1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the TrueMovingCost website (the "Service"), operated by SIE Data, Inc. ("SIE Data," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Use License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may also use the Service for legitimate business purposes such as researching service providers and comparing costs.

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without written permission
  • Use automated tools to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable human usage
  • Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content, including CSI scores and aggregated pricing data
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when claiming a business listing
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

3. Business Listings

3.1 Listing Data

Business listings on TrueMovingCost are compiled from publicly available data sources including mapping databases, government registries, and information submitted by business owners. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all listing information is current or complete.

3.2 CSI Scores

Cost & Service Index (CSI) scores are calculated using our proprietary methodology and are provided for informational purposes only. Scores may change as new data becomes available. CSI scores do not constitute an endorsement, warranty, or guarantee of any business.

3.3 Pricing Information

Pricing data displayed on our site is sourced from public records, user contributions, and claimed business profiles. Actual prices may vary based on scope of work, location, materials, and other factors. Always confirm pricing directly with the service provider.

4. User Content (Reviews)

4.1 Review Submissions

By submitting a review, you represent that:

  • You have firsthand experience with the business being reviewed
  • Your review is truthful, accurate, and not misleading
  • You are not affiliated with the business (unless clearly disclosed)
  • Your review does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or harassing content

4.2 License to User Content

By submitting a review, you grant SIE Data a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your review on the Service and affiliated directories within the SIE Directory Network.

4.3 Moderation

We reserve the right to remove or modify reviews that violate these Terms, contain inappropriate content, or appear to be fraudulent. We are not obligated to publish all submitted reviews.

5. Claim Process

5.1 Claiming a Listing

Business owners may claim their listing by verifying their identity and authority to represent the business. We may verify claims through phone verification, email verification, or document review.

5.2 Claimed Listing Responsibilities

Once you claim a listing, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date business information
  • Not manipulate reviews or CSI scores
  • Respond to customer inquiries and reviews in good faith
  • Notify us of material changes to your business (closure, ownership transfer, etc.)

5.3 Free Tier

Basic business claiming is free. Premium features and enhanced listings may be offered for a fee in the future, with clear pricing disclosed before any charges apply.

6. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

SIE Data does not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; (b) listing information, pricing data, or CSI scores are accurate, complete, or current; or (c) results obtained from the Service will be reliable.

SIE Data is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports. The Service is for informational and marketing purposes only and must not be used for any purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance underwriting decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIE DATA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL SIE DATA'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO SIE DATA IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SIE Data, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
